RICHMOND : BC : CANADA

The owner decided to rebrand his Taiwanese restaurant we helped promote for a few years. Their new offers included Taiwanese herbal meat pots on top of stir-fried dishes.

The client has a preferred Chinese name, “River and Lake”, pronounced in “Jiang” and “Hu” when present in English. But when those two Chinese words combined, "Jiang Hu" became a nickname of all the places away from the capital city and controlled by local societies in the old Chinese empire eras. People who live or travel across such areas must equipped with special skills, knowledge and brave enough to deal with all circumstances.

Martial art movie fans could think of kung fu heroes and gangsters, but in this “Jiang Hu” the heroes are the well-trained cooks who bring us delicious Taiwanese foods.

The logo simulates a Chinese ink stamp that yields a simple and bold graphics for easy recognition.

With the inspiration of the term “Chop Suey” used by many Chinese restaurants in the past, we proposed to use the cookware titles to make it unique and fun for these two less well-known Taiwanese cuisines.

A set of logos in English, Chinese and in bilingual tailored for different audience groups and media channels.

Besides the corporate Gold and black colours carry a traditional look, the logo works well with other colour combination.
