HOTPOT PALACE
Name suggestion and logo identity design for a new fancy hot pot restaurant that offers best-selected food ingredients and broth base recipes from several regions in China, Taiwan, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
Our objectives were to attract both the Chinese audience already familiar with this Asian cuisine and the mainstream audience who may not even know what “hot pot” is. We also differentiated the restaurant from All-you-can-eat and the famous Szechuan-style hot pot restaurants.
Logo symbol with the Chinese name "royal's courtyard" was transformed from a custom ink calligraphy
An uneven thickness and round corners typeface was chosen to imitate the effect of ink stamping
The full version logos come with the Chinese description "exquisite hot pot"
The business card is in a very narrow proportion that matches the design of the plaque hung at the lobby
Two full menus designed for the open area (black) and dining rooms (red) with dedicated food sets for large groups and individuals
The first page of each menu shows the ordering and cooking guidelines for hot pot newbies
And then the cooking broth selection page includes a brief introduction of each flavour
Page layouts of the food sets for large groups, personal hotpot combo, and a la carte menus
