During the rebranding process, we studied the trends of seafood restaurants in Lei Yue Mum Village and other places in Hong Kong and mass customer reviews and comments of these restaurants to obtain valuable references in shaping the restaurant and designing a new food menu that can attract younger generations and well present to English speaking customers.

We carefully arranged the seafood cooking fee system (not shown in the photos), food sections and pagination on the new menu. We helped translate the food titles and other texts and unified them in British English. And also we provided real-time online art direction at the photo shoot to make sure the light settings and food styling matched the design layouts.

Due to the budget, we can only show a limited number of food photos on the menu. As all customers will pre-order live seafood from the seafood stalls, we display only one or two best-selling cooking methods in each seafood category to help new customers pick the best flavours by looking at the sample photos.

Like most seafood restaurants in Lei Yue Mum, Hon Kee also provides Cantonese dishes besides seafood. The new menu added a selection of Hakka hometown foods to give loyal customers and those who are not big fans of seafood other choices. The new food items also help differentiate from other competitors.
